The Citrus™ '12 Steps to WOW' Ultimate Deep Clean

As NCCA trained professional carpet cleaners our Citrus technicians are experiences at identifying and cleaning wool carpets. When cleaning wool carpets Citrus only use Woolsafe approved products in conjunction with our '12 Steps to WOW' Ultimate Deep Clean, which will leave your carpets clean, healthy, groomed, protected and Turbo dried.

Step 1: Pre – Inspection Survey and Quotation
Every great professional deep carpet clean starts with a proper pre-inspection survey. Citrus trained and nationally qualified technician will inspect your carpets giving particular attention to any areas of concern, as well as noting carpet construction and soiling conditions. The inspection should take no longer than 15 to 20 minuets and at the time you will be advised of any possible permanent staining.

You will be given a written detailed quotation on completion of the survey.

Having booked your Citrus professional deep carpet clean, prepare to be amazed by the outstanding results we can achieve, as your carpets will be left spotlessly cleaned, groomed, protected smelling Citrus fresh and Turbo dried.

Step 2 - Moving Furniture
With the use of furniture sliders your Citrus carpet cleaning technicians can easily move furniture including: 3 piece suites, beds and bedside cabinets. However, they are unable to move the following large pieces of furniture unless completely empty: large display cabinets, bookcases, television stands and fish tanks, these items usually remain and therefore can be cleaned around and under with an upholstery tool.

Customer Pre – Clean Preparation
On the day of your scheduled clean please remove breakables and items from tables and other furniture that will be moved by our staff. Remove all small items such as boxes, magazines, shoes, etc. in the areas to be cleaned. Also, arrange for pets and children to be safely secure in another room away from the area where we are to clean.
(If you are unable to help with the moving of small items as described above, don’t worry as we can do this for you. All you need to do is let us know at the time of the time of the Initial survey.)

Step 3 - Pre-Vacuum
At least 70% of all dirt contained within carpets is dry particulate dirt that we remove with specialist rotary assisted carpet vacuuming equipment.  Missing this crucial step and jumping straight to adding water and chemicals is a classic mistake made by armatures. When vacuuming your carpets, Citrus technicians will pay particular attention to the edges of the carpet, using our specialist edging tools to remove any build up of dirt, not reached by day-to-day Vacuuming.

Step 4 - Pre-Spray & Spot Treatment
Traffic areas and spots are pretreated with a hot organic pre-spray for more effective soil and spot removal.

Step 5 – Agitations
After allowing our specialist pre-spray chemical, sufficient dwell time to work their magic we gently massage the carpet fibers using rotary carpet agitation equipment, which not only helps to emulsify the dirty and release it, ready for extraction but also helps lift the pile and remove any hair trapped in the body of the carpet.

Step 6 - Extraction
In order to extract as much emulsified dirt as effectively as possible, Citrus use a state-of-the-art 500 PSI adjustable pressure hot water extraction machine (sometimes known as a steam cleaner), combined with the Wonder Wand® with it’s patented air induction & roller system. This combination cleans better and dries faster than most of the alternatives.

Step 7 - Advanced spot and stain removal
If there are spots stains that require specialist treatments to remove them, your Citrus technicians will use the appropriate chemicals and techniques to give the best result possible without damaging the carpet fibers in the process.

Step 8 – Rinse
Having performed our magic and brought your tied grubby flattened carpets back to life making them clean and smelling Citrus fresh, we thoroughly flush the carpet pile with an organic rinsing agent, correcting the PH balance in the carpets and flushing out any remaining cleaning solution.

Step 9 – Pile Grooming, and Re-Alignment
Post clean pile realignment using a pile rake is an often an overlooked step by so called “professional carpet cleaners’’ this is evidenced by the numerous face book posts showing hideous chevron stroke marks left by the cleaning head. At Citrus we are aware that the longer the pile the more visually beneficial pile grooming becomes, because with normal foot traffic and soiling, the face yarns can become crushed and tangled. Using a pile rake, our technician’s rake over the face yarns lifting and separating them while prepare them to receive a stain guard protection. This process also ensuring the best visual finish for your carpets and enhancing drying times.

Step 10 - Stain Guard Protection

When and only when, your the carpets have been thoroughly deep cleaned and our technicians are convinced you will be amazed at the result, do they apply the carpet protector. At Citrus Carpet Care we use StainShield™ Professional to protect your carpets, it will keep your carpets looking cleaner for longer. StainShield™ Professional is a Woolsafe approved product for superior carpet protection. Areas treated will stay looking newer, remain cleaner longer, and resist stains, it repels oil and water-based soils and protecting carpet fibers from dry particulate damage.

A note of caution, just because you have protected your carpet, does not mean that you can let spillages and potential stains sit on your carpet for hours or days. They will eventually sink in and set. Protecting your carpets with a stain guard buys you time to prevent stains by repelling the liquid making it bead, rather than immediately soaking in.

Step 11 – Furniture Replacement & Turbo Drying
With the use of carpet sliders we replace all the furniture to its original position and while the carpets are still damp, to avoid staining, all furniture will be replaced using plastic tabs or polystyrene blocks under exposed timber or metal. Citrus supply and leave with you over night, whole room driers and turbo dryers that move air helping to promote evaporation - the key to successful drying. Whilst air movers alone may be enough to dry carpets quickly, adjusting the temperature and increasing room ventilation will also promote faster drying times.

Step 12 – Post Clean Inspection
Finally we will walk you through your home revealing the results of our exceptional deep cleaning process. At this point we will arrange to return to collect our driers and finalise payment, while arranging to make contact at a suitable interval, to continue to maintain the health and cleanliness of you carpets.

We recommend you ALWAYS get carpet protector applied when you have your carpet cleaned.
