Health and Safety

The safety of individuals affected by our work activities is of great importance to us.

Protecting people from injury and suffering is ultimately controlled by law but we recognise and accept a strong moral responsibility for the well-being of our employees and others who may be affected by our work.

It is our philosophy that we are all actively engaged in improving safety in the workplace. We understand that Safety is not just about an organisation, it’s about all of us and how we act, taking responsibility for our own safety, and for the safety of others, proactively intervening in unsafe situations.

The general well-being of every person involved in our activities is of paramount importance; this includes our own personnel, our clients and all visitors to our client's premises.

Our Health and Safety procedures are well documented and include a Health and Safety Policy, generic and site specific risk assessments for both specified cleaning activities and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).

Citrus staff are provided with the necessary PPE protection. Our machinery is regularly checked to see that it complies with the Electricity at Work Regulations and is PAT tested annually.

Our staff receive an induction at the commencement of their employment which includes basic training in the aspects of Health and Safety and COSHH that is applicable to their job. This training becomes more detailed for certain types of contract where specific risks have been identified.

It is our aim to achieve a working environment which is free of work related accidents and ill- health and to this end, we carry out on-going (and unannounced) assessments of health and safety compliance to monitor good practice by our Staff and we will pursue continuing improvements from year to year.
